MANILA-BASED CIVIL ENGINEERING REVIEW

CENTERS (Directory)

(CIVIL ENGINEERING BOARD EXAM REVIEW TIPS/STRATEGIES SERIES)

Updated: September 20, 2015

By: Dindo Mojica, C.E., M.Eng

A good review center program should be viewed by the students as a wise investment in passing the Civil Engineering Board Examinations. CE students/graduates must pay for the skills and knowledge of licensed civil engineer lecturers who have a special study of the CE licensure examination types and contents as prescribed by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC).

By means of lectures, techniques and demos, lecturers/reviewers pass their wisdom along to reviewees. The ability of a review center to increase the reviewees’ chances of success depends on the review center’s program. Review centers aid and assist students for better chances of passing the licensure exams. Usually, this kind of review method will only be effective if the student/reviewee will do his/her part.

6. ESPLANA ENGINEERING REVIEW CENTER

Commonly Called: Esplana

Esplana Engineering Review Center was the youngest review center (up to now). It was founded on November 2011 by Engr. Dindo F. Esplana, May 2001 CE Board First Placer of Mapua Institute of Technology, a former lecturer of Experts Review Center, and reviewed at Besavilla and Padilla. Majority of the CE subjects are conducted by himself.

Services Offered:
  • One (1) week free trial – you may attend his review classes for free within a week (seat-in)
  • No Reservation Fee
Mission

To help aspiring civil engineers achieve high pass marks in the licensure examination by imparting a wide and thorough knowledge in all mathematics and civil engineering subjects, by offering radical, straightforward, and shortcut methods in problem-solving; and by inculcating effective review habits.

To revolutionize the prevailing system for CE board review in the Philippines through newly-devised strategies in problem solving and unconventional approaches in teaching.

Company Overview

Esplana Engineering Review Center is the brainchild of Engineer Dindo Francisco Esplana in his advocacy to revolutionize the board exam review system for aspiring civil engineers by discarding obsolete and antiquated methods in teaching. It is an offshoot of his astounding achievement in the May 2001 CE Licensure Exam where he copped First Place with an unprecedented 98.5%, a feat that etched his name in board exam history. Moreover, his almost decade-long experience as an unconventional mathematician-lecturer makes him the foremost authority in CE board review.

Unlike most review centers which are highly profit-oriented but which thrive on outdated pedagogical techniques, Esplana Engineering Review Center values quality and service over monetary gains as signified by its free trial review program which gives reviewees leeway to choose the best. This allows them to discover for themselves the effectiveness of the radical techniques for solving algebraic to project management problems.

The center envisions not only to help hopefuls to hurdle the board exam with superior pass marks through coaching, performance-monitoring, and mock-board exams, but also to equip them with practical knowledge they can utilize when they eventually enter the field industry.

Tuition Fee/Promos: (prices/promos may change without prior notice)
  1. P2,000 (Review and Refresher Package) – for all Presidents of CE Organizations
  2. P2,000 (Review and Refresher Package) – for quizzers/medallist/with honor
  3. P8,000 (Review and Refresher Package) – for fully-paid students only

7. TATUALLA REVIEW GROUP - CIVIL ENGINEERING

Commonly Called: TATUALLA/TRG

The Tatualla Review Group (TRG) is established and managed by the Tatualla Family. They started in reviewing and inspiring Nursing graduates for the licensure exams.  Proven to be successful in achieving their goals for several years, they are in the stage of expanding TRG services by adding a branch for Civil Engineering review courses (2012).  Being one of the most credible Civil Engineers in the family, Engr. Sarah Marie Tatualla Dichoso (oftentimes called as Engr. Lala) was appointed as the Program Director for CE Review.  She is an alumna of Mapua Institute of Technology and graduated with honors.  In order to meet her elite standard of achieving the best quality of review, she has hired exceptional Lecturers who will provide you with the set of knowledge, skills, guidance and techniques necessary in succeeding the licensure exams.

Most people challenged them with these remarks, "Why choose to build another review center for Civil Engineering when there are too many of them already and not to mention, they are all vast and distinguished?"

Their goals are to impart our knowledge to their reviewees by stipulating them with quality and holistic review program supported by our brilliant reviewers, provided at a reasonable cost. We aim to replace their fears in the licensure exams with the level of confidence that a future Civil Engineer must encompass.

Driven by our objectives, we foresee to become a reputable review center for Civil Engineering believing that no matter how tiny you are, you can always play a part in the success of the industry as long as you are enthusiastic and your heart is into it. Those vast and distinguished review centers in the market are our motivation today.  We in TRG-CE will do our best to be an icon of inspiration tomorrow.

The History of CAL TECH

It was year 2009, I was still jobless , with no job prospect and very little money left. I resigned from a teaching job in Saudi Aramco , Saudi Arabia. I was still then recovering from a bout of depression caused by what happened from my best friends from UE as well as my bad experience from my job out there in Saudi Arabia. During this time, I am very grateful to Dr. Amelia Marquez (President of Megareview) who helped me recover. In this period , I shifted my energy to conceptualizing the idea of Calculator Techniques , I integrated my work in my review classes and did extensive research on how the Calculator can be utilized in its optimum use. A lot of ideas I wrote from my books were taken from my special classes MATH ENHANCEMENT being offered by my previous employer. Two of my students, Eric and Edison volunteered to design the CALCULATOR Keys. I extended Calculator Techniques to Math, Mechanics, Engineering Economy, Design and Construction , Fluid Mechanics , Hydraulics and Numerical Methods. They got excellent feedbacks, from teachers, students and my colleagues. My first book Calculator Techniques sold already more than five thousand copies from its 1st printing in year 2011. During my critical times, My best friend and my adopted son by principle Mico Algaba had stayed with me with the selling, promotion and distribution of the books. A lot of people had laugh at my work then, but now they are already imitating my work in their lectures , reading materials and even in their promotion. After some time, The wheel of fortune revolved favorably for my favorite teacher Engineer Adelia Rocamora (who happens to be the Vice President of a big time Transporation Company) who showed extreme grit , strength and determination despite the odds that finally she won the case against a titan UE. My friends Engineer Veronica Masangkay ,now a big time Project Manager of TCGI and Engineer Gertrudo Regondola (a proud faculty of Ateneo De Naga University) is expected to reap the same benefits. Today I am a regular faculty of my beloved school , NATIONAL UNIVERSITY (THE HOME OF THE CHAMPIONS) and is expected to dominate also the academics in the coming years). It simply proved that you cannot put good men and women down.

I thank the Lord for everything that happened.

Today Calculator Techniques will be one of the major selling point of the Newly Establihed Civil Engineering Review School, Tolentino and Associates Review School.
